Pre-Jordan Program for First Time Parents
Thank you for contacting the Parish to have your child baptized into the Catholic faith. Our St. Thomas of Villanova community welcomes you and shares in your great joy!
Since parents are their child’s “first and best” teachers, the parish would like to help you to reaffirm your own faith and to fully embrace and celebrate the sacrament through a short baptismal preparation process (also known as our “Pre-Jordan” program).  

Our Pre-Jordan program is required of all parents who are baptizing a child for the first time and highly encouraged for other parents and Godparents who have not taken a course in the past. The program consists of both parents completing an online, self-paced certification course (less then 2 hours) called Belonging: Baptism in the Family of God (produced by the Ascension Press company). 
 
We trust that you will find our Pre-Jordan class  to be very manageable and meaningful.   ​
STEPS ________________________________________

  1. Notify Tanya Braithwaite (Parish Liturgist) of your intention to have your child baptized: [email protected]
  2.  Register and complete the certification course using the following link (there is modest cost of $9.95 that the company (not the parish) charges to help produce the program):  Belonging, Certification Course – Ascension (ascensionpress.com).  
  3. Once you have finished, please forward  a copy of your Completion Certificate to [email protected] or [email protected]. 
  4. Please note that we do require that Pre-Jordan be completed  prior to the baptism date.
