"Be filled with the Spirit, addressing one
another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing
and praying to the Lord in your hearts, giving thanks
always and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus
Christ to God the Father."
Eph 5: 19
The Roman Missal is the document that
contains all of the prayers, chants, and directives for
conducting the Mass. The Third Edition of the missal has
been released in Latin. The Latin version was
subsequently translated into English. That English
translation will be used at Mass beginning on November
27, 2011, the First Sunday of Advent.
The following
material has been prepared to help us in the
congregation to understand the changes that resulted in
a third edition as well as the effects on the English
translation of revised instructions as to how Latin is
to be translated into the many vernacular languages used
around the world.
This Presentation
summarizes the evolution of the Mass and of the Roman
Missal. The presentation includes a summary of the
specific changes we will experience later this year.
You will find in
this link, all of the
bulletin inserts
that have been published during the 2011 year
concerning Mass and the changes in the words of the
prayers resulting from the new translation.
